At New Year’s Eve in Philippines, people specially make sure that the food served is exquisite and fresh. Although the main fest, Noche Buena is organized on Christmas Eve but still people make sure that New Year Eve stands to its name. For tourists who want to party on New Year’s Eve, Philippines is descent! Tourists can join the locals in the welcoming of New Year and can enjoy the Happy New Year 2018 Party in Philippines till the 1st Day of the New Year.

 


Tradition in Philippines on New Year Eve

 

Filipino paputok (Firecrackers) – People make as much noise as possible to scare away evil spirits and bring prosperity.

 

Dress in Polka-Dots – Roundness signifies prosperity, therefore people with polka-dots on their dresses.

 

Never Spend Money – People don’t start the year off by spending money as it symbolizes their future in the forthcoming New Year.

 

Money in Wallet – People make sure that they have ample money in their wallet as it signifies the financial situation in the coming year.

 

Filipino Children Jump – Exactly at mid-night, or at the stroke of New Year, children jump as high as they can to increase their height.

 

Cleaning – Before the arrival of New Year, people clean everything as it is believed that cleaning on the 1st day of New Year is not good.

 

Open Doors – To allow good luck to enter, everything including windows, doors, cupboards, drawers, cabinets etc. are left wide open.
